The Kid's Got Point

Finn has become the household pet master. He feeds Riley every day and fills his water bowl - when he wakes up he jumps right up and says I have a job to do! He also loves feeding our cockateil and holding him and scratching his head. He really has a way with animals.

This weekend Daddy-O mentioned to him what a great job he was doing with the pets and Finn decided we needed some more pets.

What would you get?

A Hyena and a giraffe. Oh! And an elephant!

An elephant? Where would we keep an elephant?

We'd have to build a big barn in the yard to keep him warm.

Yes, but that would take up the whole yard.

That's okay Daddy, then Mama wouldn't have to mow!

The kid certainly has a point...

Ohh, great idea, I think I'm getting an elephant so we don't have to mow either.

Not to be sexist here....but why is mommy mowing in the first place?? At our house I have to draw the line....and yardwork is the MAN'S JOB. Otherwise I would be doing everything....

I love mowing the lawn. It's kind of meditative for me. Yeah, I'm weird like that. :)

My Grandfather meditates via lawn mowing, though he would never call it that. I can't quite make the leap to transcending space and time when I'm using brute strength to force the mower over our cratered and tilted back yard. I'm thinking about getting goats...

My husband would totally go for that.

True, you wouldn't have to mow but, just who would be scooping THAT poop?

Mowing the lawn is one of my favorite things to do. Sometimes, if they aren't home, I mowe my neighbors! One time I was mad and push mowed the back lawn. It's 3 acreas! I wasn't mad when I finished. It looked so pretty.
I would love an elephant. Have you ever seen them pee!!! Its like a fire hose. OMG!!!! It's so funny to see.

when we were kids, my brother wanted to have a horse in the backyard (in the middle of the city). my mother told him that we couldn't because I was allergic. there was lost of cussing at me from a 5-year old brother after that.

I can just imagine elephants as pets - I think the mess you'd have to clean up would be way worse than mowing the lawn!!
